Twitchell Auditorium
Community Music Spartanburg Theatre
Presented by the Music Foundation of Spartanburg in Twichell Auditorium at Converse College on January 28 at 7 pm. Concertmaster and Principal Second Violin, Johnson and Irwin take center stage in Bach's Concerto for Two Violins, a popular piece that epitomizes the Baroque Period. On the 100th Anniversary of the Titanic's tragic ending, celebrate the bravery of bandleader Wallace Hartley with Horner's Titanic Medley. After the Titanic began to sink, they began playing music to help keep the passengers calm. Many of the survivors said that he and the band continued to play until the very end. None of the band members survived. The concert culminates in Symphony No. 2, D Major from Sibelius.
